I have been an event planner for a national non-profit for over 10 years. This has afforded me the luxury of having stayed in some of the most wonderful resorts around the United States. Since I am not paid by any of the following, I can give you my unfiltered perspective and say whatever the heck I want to. Here is my review of the Hyatt Grand Champions Resort, Villa and Spa.
This is a resort you will never want to leave. It is the perfect Palm Springs experience. Nestled into the Indian Wells community of Palm Springs it is everything you want in a resort experience. I have stayed at this resort 3 times. It might just be my favorite desert oasis.
I can only speak to their villas (la-de-da). They are a little piece of heaven. Each has either its own bbq, whirlpool or firepit. Forget the bbq, I’ll take the private pool, every time!
I tend to care about different things than other people. For example, I don’t care that I have a 65″ flat screen TV because I am generally by the pool (hello adult pool!). I don’t care that I can make Starbuck’s coffee in my room because I am having a mimosa or mojito by the pool. If hors-d’oeuvres are your thing, be sure to add the Regency Club to your hotel package. The Regency Club has an awesome breakfast buffet for a club room.
I do care, however, that the bed is comfortable and the bathroom is awesome. Here I got both!
Maybe it’s the cool marble floors of the villas or the gorgeous grounds, but this resort is worth going to. However, save yourself the headache of screaming kids. Try to avoid the days surrounding spring break or Coachella (unless you are going to Coachella). Sure this is a great resort for a convention (the convention services are outstanding), wedding or reunion but if you want a 3 day get-away, book a villa and some spa appointments.
Their Agua Serena Spa is gorgeous. They have private men’s and women’s facilities, including a relaxation room, eucalyptus steam room, dry sauna, jacuzzi and outdoor showers. The spa website says, “Unwind in an oasis of luxuriant pampering at Agua Serena Spa, located at Hyatt Regency Indian Wells Resort & Spa. Discover peace of body and mind in a private garden patio surrounded by dramatic mountains and towering palms. Breathe in the desert air, listen to the gentle flow of water, and find your own bliss in our Palm Springs spa.” I mean, come on, who is down for that?!
According to their website, they have the following (because let’s face it, I am not going to remember the technical details):
- 7 different room types, 530 non-smoking guestrooms, including a combination of 452 king and double queen rooms and over 70 suites to include penthouse and villa options
- Over 88,000 sq.ft. of events space
- 6 places to grab grub: Lantana, Agave Sunset Tequila Bar, Roadrunner Café, 24hour In-Room Dining, Citrus Marketplace & Café.
- 7 pools and slide, DesertPipe water adventure
- Agua Serena Spa & Salon
- Golf & Tennis
