Haiku Sunday (86-88)

This Haiku is reminiscent of the days of old. The ancient Egyptians accomplished astonishing architectural feats. The also took many of those engineering secrets with them. Besides the 7 wonders of the world (the Colossus of Rhodes, the Great Pyramid of Giza, the Hanging Gardens of Babylon, the Lighthouse of Alexandria, the Mausoleum at Halicarnassus, the Statue of Zeus at Olympia and the Temple of Artemis at Ephesus) what ancient mysteries are you curious about? Stonehenge perhaps?

Waiting

Ancients had been here.
He waited in the desert,
Hoping they’d return.

They did not return,
Taking their secrets with them.
He perished waiting.

So he turned to dust,
And mingled with the ancients.
Secrets now revealed.
